Happy Memorial Day

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."  John 15:13

Thank you to everyone who has fought for our country and served in the military!! We have thought about you all day today and truly thank you for what you have done and are doing!!!

There is another memorial day, however, that is much more significant than the Memorial Day which we celebrate every year. This memorial day commemorates One who not only gave His life for his friends, but also for His enemies ( Romans 5:7, 8). This memorial day is not to remember those who have fallen in battle, but One who was triumphant over death ( Colossians 2:15). This memorial day doesn't begin a single season of the year, but begins every week of the year. This memorial day is observed by those who are faithful Christians upon the first day of the week, every week. What is this day of which I speak? It is Sunday, the first day of the week ( Mark 16:2, 9, Acts 20:7), the Lord's day ( Revelation 1:10).

Yesterday we went to this square in Portland.  It has a little wading pool and some fountains.  The kids had a blast.  It is going to be fun to go back there when it gets hot and let the kids go in their bathing suits!! 

G-A-R-R-E-T-T

Garrett learned how to spell his name.  I have been trying to work with him a couple of times a week.  We have been working on the letter A this week.  He says "BIG A, little a.....ahahahahahahha for APPLE!!!"  It's not nearly as cute wrote out as it is when he says it!!

This month has been really hard on me.  All the things that have happened this month have been little and no big deal but I guess it got to me because it happened right after another.  It seemed as though we weren't getting a break!!!  Anyway a good friend of mine posted on her blog things that made her smile and it made me think......I have WAY more things to be thankful for than be upset about.....

1.) I serve a MIGHTY and POWERFUL God!!
2.) Have a loving husband that is committed to our family and leading us spiritually
3.) I have a son that is so witty and loving that even when I am so mad and frusterated he melts my heart
4.) I have a beautiful little girl that's laugh and smile can't help but be contagious
5.) I have a group of friends that would do anything to help me out and be there when I need a shoulder to    
     cry on
6.) I have parents that have brought me up and stuck with me even though the hard times.  They loved me
     even when I was unlovable.
7.) I have a mother-in-law that would do anything in the world for us.  If I needed her today, she would be
     on the next flight ready to help
8.) I am able to go on amazing vacations and see the world.  I have been to over 27 countries and tons of
     states
9.) I am a registered nurse, nationally certifiated in pediatrics, and only 1 class away from my BSN
10.) I HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!

Happy, HEALTHY Kids

This has been a really hard month for our family.  The kids have been sick, Garrett had surgery, Garrett got hospitalized after surgery, then Haylee got sick!!  Will it EVER end!!!  Well I think it has ended...for now.  Here are some pictures of our Happy, HEALTHY kids!!!

Family Pictures

It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and I've been wanting to go to Pittcock Mansion to get family pictures, so with my parents here visiting I decided to recuit my dad in taking our pictures....it didn't work out like I planned...the kids had another plan, but there were some cute ones!!!

Garrett's Home & Closing Program

As you can tell our little man is feeling MUCH better!!!  We got discharged this morning and was home by noon!!  YAHOO!!!  We were admitted where I work it they were WONDERFUL to us.  I didn't know any of our nurses but they all treated Garrett wonderfully.  Thank you guys very much!!!  My only problem was my body didn't feel right sleeping there....I was suppose to be working!! :)

After we got home Garrett took a good nap and we decided to let him go to his Preschool Closing Program.  I'm so glad we did because it was WONDERFUL!!!  Garrett had a really good time too.  Today was Garrett's last day of preschool for this year and of we missed it...but the program made up for that.
