We've Got Company

We have REAL company (sorry Mom and Dad and Jody....but you're not REAL company!!).  My cousin Tim and his wife Michele and their two kids, Blake and Megan came to Oregon to come see us....and the Northwest!!  We are SO excited having someone here to show around!!  They arrived Monday afternoon and we hit the ground running!!

....but before that.  The day before they came it was really nice and Garrett had been BEGGING me to go to the fountains so I decided to take them!!  Josh and his friend Aric went shooting, so Kristin and her son Noah came along with us!!  It was fun...minus the fact they need water shoes.  Haylee ended up with a knot on the back of her head and Noah had a bump on his cheek!!  Here are a few pictures from the afternoon!!

So anyway.....back to Tim and Michele!!  Their flight got to Portland around 3:30pm and they said they didn't want to waste anytime, so we didn't....we started sighting seeing from the airport.  We went to Multnomah Falls!!  They could not get over the weather here in Oregon.  They came from 100 degree plus weather with who knows what humidity to beautiful 70 degree sunshine!!  It was such a beautiful day!!  

When we got to the bridge (which is about 1/4 mile walk), I asked if they wanted to go to the top of the falls, which was about a mile.  They said sure why not....it's only a mile!!  BOY were we wrong!!  It was a mile straight UP HILL, with ELEVEN switchbacks!!!  It was tough....AND we had Garrett and Haylee walking!! Garrett walked the entire way...minus the parts Megan carried him a few feet here and there, and Haylee walked probably half of it!!  You go guys!!!

WE MADE IT TO THE TOP!!! 

This is a picture of the TOP of Multnomah Falls!!  It was SO gorgeous!!!

 Garrett refused to look in this picture.  He fell pretty hard and skinned both knees and his elbow.  He was still pretty upset!!

There was a stream at the top we let the kids play in for a few minutes!!  It was nice and refreshing!!  Plus it cheered Garrett up....at least while we were playing in the water!!

Now back down!!! 

Needless to say, we ALL went to bed around 8:30pm last night!!!

Today we woke up and got around and went to the Rose Garden and the zoo!!  It was cloudy, cool and little rainy today!  Welcome to the Northwest!!!  It still was a nice day to be out!!

Tim and I couldn't get over the "nursing" signs!!

It started raining and Michele grabbed her free Wal-mart bag that was given to us as we walked in the zoo, to put it over her head!!   WAY TO LOOK ARKANSIAN!!

After we got home from the zoo, we decided to go berry picking!!  I wish I had my video camera of Haylee!!  She plopped her behind down on the ground and got after eating.....doubled handed!!!  It was the funniest thing!!  This was the end result!! 

Well off to bed!!  It's almost midnight and we're off to see downtown Portland tomorrow!!  More pictures to come!!!
