Ok... I know it's been a while since I've written. We've been on vaction since May 13th. We're still on vaction...we get back home on May 27th. We went up to Arkansas to visit my family for about a week. I got to see my sister Lindsey and meet her boyfriend Steve. We REALLY like him!! He's a really nice guy and we hope it works out for them. Speaking of Lindsey....she left for Australia on Thursday. HOW COOL IS THAT!?! ....Anyway....while we were in Arkansas we went camping with the Smithson side of the family for two days. It was blast....minus the fact Garrett got his SECOND goose egg. The first one was from running into the "elibader" at the hotel. After we left Arkansas we went to Texarkana to visit Josh's brother, sister in-law and their three kids. Then we drove to Dallas and stayed with Josh's oldest sister, her husband and their three kids. Now we're in a hotel in Dallas. Some friends of ours from Clovis are meeting us here tonight and I think my cousin's wife and baby are going to come tomorow morning. We're going to go to Six Flags and just have fun for a few days!! My Cake

We're having a huge 3rd Birthday party for Garrett in June I want to make him this really cool tiered train cake but it's made with Fondant and I've never worked with cake fondant before so I wanted to practice and made this cake on Friday. I'm SO proud of myself. It was really easy too!!

Happy Mother's Day

Ok, well I haven't written in awhile...SORRY!!! We had a great day. We went to church and then the kids and I went to the duck pond and tried feeding the ducks but I think everyone else already had that idea because there was a TON of bread on the shore and the ducks wanted NO part in it. Oh well...we're going to try again tomorrow. Haylee had her two month shots last Thursday and it was kinda sad. She did really well though. She was fussy for a couple of hours after the shots but then she was ok...no fever or anything!! Then on Friday we said good bye to one of our dogs...Sadie. We can't take them with us when we go to Portland so we're having to give them away. :( Sadie is going to a good home though...now we just have to find a good home for Tyson. Well I hope everyone had a great day. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Haylee's First Trip to Cimarron

We went to Cimarron, NM this weekend to visit Josh's aunt's; Teenie and Sissy. We had a HUGE garage sell up there and visited with everyone. It was so much fun. Haylee turned 2 months old on Friday. She is getting so big and interacting so much. She wants to coo so bad!! She is a little Mommy's girl, which I LOVE!!

Going Back to Work

Today I had to go back to work and it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I'm excited to return to work because I LOVE my job, but I don't want to leave Haylee (even though she's with her dad). I've worried about her all night...what if Josh doesn't hear her, what if she gets upset and won't stop crying for Josh, what if's....... I know she'll do just fine, but I miss her and I've only been away for a few hours. I'm sure it will get easier.

Easter 2009

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful easter!! We did. First Jessie, Josh's sister came into town. We colored Easter eggs Saturday morning and then Saturday afternoon went to church for an Easter egg hunt and party. Then Sunday we got dressed up for church and had a wonderful lunch afterwards that my mother-in-law cooked!! Here are some pictures from our Easter weekend!!

Haylee getting so BIG

Haylee now weighs 10lbs!! She's focusing really good and started smiling the other day. She is also sleeping from 10pm to 5am!! YIPPEE!! Her BIG brother is SO protective. She has a little cold and I have to suction her nose and Garrett threw away her bulb syringe because I was hurting her. He was blocking the trash when I tried getting it out. We have to hide it now because he'll throw it away. He loves her SO much!!

Our weekend in Amarillo

This weekend we decided to go to Amarillo to get out of town. We were actually suppose to go last weekend for Spring Break but a freak blizzard decided to hit us so we postponed it to this weekend. We went with some good friends of ours, the McKinney's. We went up there Friday and took the kids putt-putting (well the guys did and Kathy and I went SHOPPING!). Then on Saturday we went to a science musuem. It was really neat. Garrett didn't get it at all but he thought all the hands on stuff was neat. The McKinney kids are 4, 10, and 13 so they understood what the stuff was about. We had a really good time though!! It was nice to get out of town and just have fun.

Sold Our House

Well we got an offer on our house and we're under contract. She's a single teacher and we're suppose to close on April 28th!! We're SO excited. It's a little earlier than we were hoping, but earlier IS better than too late. We're probably going to move our stuff to storage and move in with Josh's mom for a month or two....Not the most ideal situation, but it will work and it will give her a time to spend with the grandkids before we move. We're looking for an apartment managing position in Portland now, so if one comes up we're off to Portland...if not, we'll be leaving in June.

Haylee's One Month Old

Haylee is ONE MONTH OLD TODAY!! She is doing so good. She wakes up about every 3-4 hours during the night (can't wait until it's 6-8, but we're only a month old!). She already weighs 8lbs 14oz!!! She's going to be my chunky baby!!!

Our Beautiful Daughter!!! I love this picture. I took it today after church!!! I love having a little girl I can doll up!! She's a really good baby. She only cries when she's hungry. She wakes up about every 3-4 hours to eat....last night we went 4 1/2 hours!!! She's a keeper!! :)

Life With Two Kids

Life with two kids is a lot different than life with one. I think the big thing that is exhausting is NOT getting a full night's rest and then having to chase a 3 year old around all day. Don't get me wrong I LOVE it, but I am really tired right now. Haylee will be 1 month old on Tuesday and Garrett is almost 3 (his birthday is in June). Garrett is doing really good. Sometimes he acts out, but I think it's because he's craving attention, although he LOVES his baby sister. I try my best to give him one on one time, especially when he starts acting out. Haylee is a really good baby. She really likes to be held, but if I can't hold her she usually fusses for a minute and then gets over it. We discoverd a few days ago she really likes her swing. She can't sit up in it quite yet but with a little help from blankets it works just fine. This picture of Garrett and Haylee was taken last night after bath. I found it's a lot easier to bath them together....I do Haylee, Josh does Garrett. Not to mention it's good family time.

I am SO amazed at how well Garrett is doing with his new baby sister. He loves her so much and is SO gentle with her. He gets rowdy sometimes around her and doesn't realize he might hurt her, but when he wants to touch her or see her, he is very gentle. Someone at church asked him if they could take Haylee home with them and he said NO, Haylee goes home with me!! He HATES it when she cries, but it's a "she's hurting, I feel bad for her" hate. I'm so happy he's not jealous and is doing so good!! I hope they grow up and are really close!!

Church

Today was Haylee's first Sunday we went to church. She was SO cute. She doesn't have any dresses that fit her....but I did have this really cute white dress shirt that was 6 months. It had purple flowers on it....it fit her like a dress and was really cute!!! The arm holes were a little big, but you couldn't even tell. She was an angel in church too....we'll wait a few months and see what I'm saying!!

First Bath

Haylee's umbilical cord fell out today, so she got her first bath in water. She loved it....especially over the sponge baths that left her cold. Garrett loved her taking a bath with him too!!

Haylee Jean has arrived

I had started Braxton Hicks contractions on the 16th of Feb. but they got strong and then went away. Then on the 23rd I had contracted most of the night....but again they went away. I went to L&D and had one of my friends check me though, just so I'd know if I was doing anything and I was a 3 and she said I was in labor. She wanted me to check in but I had errends to run...so I went home and did my stuff...when I came back an hour later, around 11:30am, I was a 5. Then we went walking for an hour and came back I was a 7. Still no REALLY bad contractions. I ate lunch, watched TV for a little...called everyone to tell them it was time, and went on another walk. Around 4pm I started hurting and feeling weird so we headed back to the unit. I was an 8....still able to laugh and talk though....but not for long. It was a pretty bad hour, but at 5:06pm Haylee Jean had arrived and I did it with NO drugs!!!
