Yes I know Halloween was almost two weeks and we have moved on to more important business like the new Starbucks Holiday cup, but this year's Halloween was too cute to not post!!! We had fun this year!! I really don't like store bought costumes. I'm weird that way. I want to be different!! If I had it my way I'd choose the kids costumes (oh wait I kinda do.....but they agree and get excited about it so it's all good)!!!
This year we had the CUTEST Minnie Mouse, the MOST CREATIVE Medusa, and the MOST ORIGINAL Toy Story Toy Solider (they all three won a little contest at our church).
A few days before Halloween the kids carved their pumpkins. I really don't enjoy this but Josh and the kids love it and I enjoy taking pictures of it so it's a win win. This was Natalee's 1st year to understand what was going on. It was fun watching her!!
We took a hot chocolate break because our hands were getting tired!!
Haylee cut out probably 90% of her pumpkin!!!
I LOVE this picture!! Garrett is so into his carving and Natalee is just happy to be with them!!
Love the little tongue!!
All Finished!!
Right now Natalee LOVES Mickey Mouse & Minons. She spots them EVERYWHERE and will let the entire world know at the top of voice!!! Minons are everywhere right now so Minnie it was!!!
I made a circle skirt (with the help of my lovely friend Lea)!! Made a black tutu to go under it and bought a cute shirt and some black leggings from Wal-Mart!! Our next door neighbors (and Natalee's best friends) had ears from when they went to Disney World!!
Haylee is in this "I'm trying to figure out who I am and what I believe in" stage which includes liking everything I don't like. She wanted to be something scary and I don't like any of the scary ideas so when I came across this I idea I fell in love!! When I showed her...she did too!!! She loves make up and hair color so she was all in even though she had NO CLUE who Medusa was!!
My friend Michelle made a simple sheer white dress. I put a white long sleeve shirt and some white leggings under it. The sash is just a strip of fabric and the belt is a sequence elastic ribbon I found at walmart. I just put some velcro on it to get it stay together. We found the snake bracelet at a party store.
The snakes in her hair are bendable curly things I found at Hobby Lobby in the flower section. I hot clued a triangle of red felt to the tip each one for the snake's tongue and then hot glued them to a headband. Then we just (Kim) teased and sprayed her hair around the headband.
We painted her scales on using tempera paint over netting. Then clued sequences on with eye lash glue. The glitter is just body and hair spray glitter.
Garrett is really loving guns and play fighting these days so he was really excited about this costume!!
We just went to Goodwill and found a jacket and jeans. We found the helmet and the gun (he didn't want to ruin any of his guns) at the party store. I ordered the bullet sash off of amazon and found the boots at Walmart. Then Josh just spray painted EVERYTHING!!! His face is just Halloween green body paint. We also spray painted some pantyhose for our church's harvest festival that looked really neat but it was hard for him to see so for Halloween he opted to use the face paint.
Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!! Now on my to my favorite time of year THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS season!!!!!
I love all these pictures! You are so creative and those kids are the MOST photogenic! Love them!!!
