Yes I know it's been almost a month since I last posted!! SORRY!!! We really haven't done very much. Garrett started full day kindergarten and Haylee and I are just hanging out....nothing really that interesting. It has actually been a little stressful. We are just not getting our house back to normal. They finished painting this week and we will have our final inspection next week!! THANK GOODNESS!!!
Garrett started swim lessons this month. We never got a chance to do them this summer, so I decided to give it a try during the school year. It is A LOT less busy and the pool is right by our house! He has swim lessons Mon-Wed-Fri from 4:30-5:00pm. He LOVES them and is getting pretty good.
Doing GREAT at putting his under water.
Just needs to relax and trust his instructor.
October is a WONDERFUL month to be in Oregon. It starts to get rainy but there are still some sunny days. The weather is during into fall, the leaves are changing, the morning is filled with fog, there are pumpkin patches and corn mazes' everywhere and lots of yummy fresh foods to buy!!
We thought the kids would LOVE to get lost in a corn maze one afternoon....WRONG!! They loved it for about the first 10 minutes (well Garrett liked it, Haylee didn't like it from the beginning). They got bored really fast! We still had a good time!
The maze we did!!
AWWWWW MANNNNNN!!! We are never going to get out of this maze!!! We keep running into dead ends!!!
Out at last!!!
As many of you know Haylee had surgery yesterday to have her adenoids removed and tubes put in her ears. Haylee has suffered from a constant cold since last October (yes....A YEAR!!). We took her to the ENT (ears, nose, & throat doctor) in May and he did an x-ray of her nasal cavity and said the x-ray didn't show anything significant. He suggested we wait for the summer and see if the summer weather helped her. It did NOT, so we called him back the beginning of October. He took a look at her nose and said there was A LOT of pus and mucus. They also did a hearing screen and saw her hearing was HORRIBLE!! He decided to put in tubes to help the fluid run out of her ears (which was causing the hearing problems). He said he would take a look at her adenoids and see if they needed to be removed. After surgery, he came to talk to us and said that her adenoids were huge and he took them out.
It seemed like everyone that came to talk to us (her OR nurse, anesthesiologist, & post op nurse) would make a comment on how big her adenoids were!!
Waiting to get called to back to pre-op.
Waiting for the doctors to arrive!!
Watching cartoons!!
After the "happy" medicine!! She was SO silly!! They let us walk her to the OR. She went right to the OR nurse and said bye to us with a smile on her face (she was pretty drugged up!)
Waking up from anesthesia. She never cried, was just really out of it!
About 45 minutes later, eating a cracker, drinking juice, and wanting her IV out!!
She was still out of it when we came home. She was talking, eating, and able to sit up but couldn't walk very well and was in and out of sleep all day. We got home around 11:30am, ate a little snack and then laid down for a nap. We slept from about 12pm-3:30. Thank you Megan for being Garrett's temp Mom (Garrett went over to our friend Megan's house around 7pm the night before the surgery. He spent the night over there, she took him to school and picked him up!!)
Last night Garrett's school had a Halloween Festival. Josh stayed home with Haylee and I took Garrett. We had a good time together!!
So there you have it!! A busy but pretty boring October!! Will try not to go so long next time!!
